Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Project Aurora, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to the Aurora website, mobile application, AI companion, media features, accounts, Aurora Pro, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

2. The Service

Aurora provides an AI companion with text conversations, optional voice input, generated spoken responses, conversation continuity, and related personalized companion features. Aurora also provides media browsing and playback features. Authenticated access and an active Aurora Pro entitlement are required for the paid companion features.

Certain features or content may remain experimental, incomplete, or subject to change. Apple purchases and backend-authorized Aurora Pro access are live features and are not simulated merely because other parts of the Service are experimental.

3. AI Features and Limitations

Aurora's responses are generated by artificial intelligence. They may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate. You are responsible for evaluating and verifying output before relying on it.

Aurora is not a human, emergency service, or provider of medical, mental-health, legal, financial, tax, or other professional services. Do not use Aurora as a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency assistance, or independent judgment.

Do not submit sensitive, confidential, regulated, or highly personal information unless you understand and accept the processing described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Accounts and Security

Some features require a Project Aurora account. The current mobile flow uses Google sign-in and links the resulting account to an Aurora user ID. You must provide accurate information, protect access to your account and device, and promptly report suspected unauthorized use.

• Do not share your account with unauthorized users.
• Do not attempt to access another user’s account.
• Do not bypass authentication, entitlement, rate-limit, or other security controls.
• Do not use the Service for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful purposes.

5. User Content

You may submit messages, voice recordings for transcription, profile information, profile images, and other content supported by the Service ("User Content"). You retain your rights in User Content and are responsible for it and for having the rights needed to provide it.

• Do not submit content that violates law or another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights.
• Do not upload malware or harmful code.
• Do not submit abusive, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, or harassing content.
• Do not submit false, misleading, or fraudulent content.

You grant Aurora a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, reproduce, transmit, and process User Content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and provide the Service, including its AI, transcription, speech, personalization, and account features. This license does not grant Aurora a right to sell or publicly publish your User Content.

6. Acceptable Use

• Do not attack, disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer or bypass security or access-control features except where applicable law expressly permits it.
• Do not scrape, harvest, or misuse data or use automated tools in a way that harms the Service.
• Do not abuse AI features, rate limits, authentication systems, subscriptions, or purchase restoration.
• Do not use the Service to violate law, facilitate harm, impersonate others, or infringe the rights of others.

7. Aurora Pro Subscriptions

Aurora Pro provides access to the authenticated AI companion features made available behind Aurora's paid-access boundary. Available benefits may change, and the purchase screen will describe the current offering. Product names, prices, billing periods, and any trial terms are displayed in the applicable Apple purchase flow and control over conflicting general descriptions in these Terms.

Purchases currently use Apple's iOS purchase system through RevenueCat. A subscription automatically renews only if the product and terms shown in Apple's purchase confirmation say that it does. For an auto-renewing subscription, Apple charges your Apple account and renewal continues until you cancel through your Apple account's subscription settings in accordance with Apple's rules and the timing shown there.

RevenueCat communicates purchase and subscription events to Aurora. Aurora's backend maintains the authoritative Aurora Pro entitlement; a device-side purchase indication alone does not authorize access. Access may remain pending while an event is processed and ends when the backend records the entitlement as inactive or expired. You can use Restore Purchases in the app when signed into the Aurora account to which the purchase should be linked.

Deleting your Aurora account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel or manage the subscription separately through Apple. Refund requests and billing disputes are handled under Apple's applicable policies and processes; Aurora cannot promise that Apple will grant a refund.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third parties including Google for sign-in and cloud storage, OpenAI for AI generation and transcription, ElevenLabs for speech generation, Render for backend hosting, and Apple and RevenueCat for iOS purchases and subscription administration.

Third-party services may be unavailable or change, and your use of them may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Aurora is responsible for its own conduct but does not control each third party's systems or decisions.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains how information is collected, used, stored, shared, and deleted.

10. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, Aurora-provided content, layout, features, and functionality, is owned by Christian Roubideaux or its licensors unless otherwise stated. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to Aurora.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit protected portions of the Service without permission except as allowed by applicable law.

11. Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service. Where paid access is affected, any billing or refund rights remain subject to the applicable store terms and law.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be secure, error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and warranties arising from course of dealing. We do not warrant the accuracy or reliability of AI output.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Christian Roubideaux will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, business, goodwill, or use arising from or related to the Service.

These limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law and do not exclude rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Christian Roubideaux from third-party claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses arising from your User Content, your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of law or third-party rights.

15. Suspension, Termination, and Account Deletion

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created legal, security, or operational risk, or used the Service in an unauthorized or harmful way. Loss of an active Aurora Pro entitlement also removes access to paid companion features.

The in-app Delete Account control currently disables your Aurora account and signs the device out. It does not automatically erase every retained conversation, memory, media, usage, or subscription record, and it does not cancel an Apple subscription. 16. Governing Law

Applicable law governs these Terms. Nothing in these Terms limits consumer rights or other protections that cannot be waived under the law that applies to you. A specific contractual jurisdiction has not been designated in these Terms.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date above. Material changes may require additional notice or consent where required.
